I’ve been wanting to try Honey Pot for some time now. Black women owned plant based products?! Sign me up! But I was unaware that they were sold in Target until recently. The company went viral after controversy over a Target commercial. I won’t get too far into it but to summarize, at the end of the commercial the owner Bea Dixson encouraged black girls to go after their dreams. Sounds innocent right? Well not to white supremacist. They tried boycotting the brand with hopes to shut her down. But it had the opposite effect. The brand went virial and they cannot keep the item’s stocked! Here’s the commercial below.
I can be a last-minute person when it comes to purchasing toiletries so I never wanted to order online. Pre quarantine, I headed over to Target on my lunch break and only thing I could find was their feminine foam wash. So, I purchased those and headed to their website to see what all they had to offer. Here’s a full list of everything Honey Pot offers on their website along with the prices.

Foam Wash
First thing I tried was the normal foam wash, which was amazing! I love the light fresh scent. I love that everything is natural. If your PH is off, the colloidal silver & apple cider vinegar will balance everything out. I never was able to use feminine washes prior because it threw off my PH, but this foam wash makes me feel fresh. Like I mentioned before, I got the normal wash and in the past I had to purchase the sensitive option and I was just fine with their normal wash. It has a light citrus scent. Nothing overbearing at all. With this being a foam wash, you want to follow the instructions on the bottle which says to use 3-4 pumps and hand wash. If you put the foam on a rag, it wont suds up as much. Also to cut down on bacteria that gets traps on the rag, its best to hand wash. Plus its more gentle on your lady parts.
Wipes
When I placed my order they only had the travel individual wipes. This by far are my favorite wipes. I will NEVER use any other brand of wipes. I love that it gives you a soothing cool feel when you use them. Also the towelette isn’t small. You get a nice sized wipe in each packet. The scent is also citrus and not overbearing. Only thing I do not like is that they are not flushable. I pray they fix that, because when you’re on your cycle you don’t want to have to throw the soiled towelette in the trash or try to fit it back into the pouch it came in. Ew.
Tampons, Pads, & Pantiliners
I’ll be honest, I was a little afraid to try these. I have a condition called Endometriosis which is very painful and you bleed a lot. Most days I need super protection. Especially the first 3 days. I’ve tried natural tampons and pads in the past trying to cut down on chemicals which make my condition worse. Every brand I’ve tried just doesn’t give me the absorption like the popular brands. However, I’m pleasantly surprised with Honey Pot. Before writing this review I tested them out during two cycles & I’m in love! First, the pads have this cool sensation when you put them on which feels amazing! However, my daughter tried them and said she didn’t like the cool feeling. She said it burned (she’s 14 btw). Unfortunately they don’t have a sensitive version of the pads. I would recommend the L. brand at Target as a natural alternative. As far as coverage, I’m able to wear the tampons and pads for the full four hours without leaking.
Overall I love Honey Pot! I will be using their products from now on. That is if I can get my hands on some. The website and store is always sold out. However, I did sign up for restock alerts and I check Target every time I go. I hope after this pandemic they will get the manpower to keep up with the demand. Have you tried Honey Pot? Comment below and let me know your experience or if you plan on trying them out.
