Last winter I scored this military inspired button front dress from my local Goodwill. The dress has brown buttons down the front that compliments the army green (green is my favorite color if you haven’t noticed from my Instagram). I love the strap and button detail on the shoulder and huge pockets across the breast. Gives the dress a military vibe. The best part is I paid $6.00 for this dress at the Goodwill and have gotten so many different wears out of it. This dress is super cute on its own but my favorite way to wear it is with the buttons undone as a duster.
Look 1: Belted dress w/ slit
[Sunglasses – ABSM Trisha, Belt – Thrifted, Boots – Charlotte Russ]
It was still chilly outside when I took these photos so to play off the button colors I paired the dress with suede camel color boots and a camel skinny belt with gold embellishment. The belt and leaving a few buttons undone at the bottom gave the dress more of feminine look.
Look 2: Chic
[Tank – Forever 21, Pants – H&M, Shoes – Platoe’s Closet]
I love how these colors complement one another. The camel color tank and sandals always pair good with green. But the white trousers really made everything pop! If your a curvy girl like me and have hips, wearing a duster will instantly slim your silhouette and give the illusion that your hips are smaller.
Look 3: Casual
[Top – Forever 21, Skirt & Belt – Ross, Shoes – Converse]
On the contrary of what you may think, I don’t enjoy wearing heels all the time. The older I get, I find myself buying more flats and tennis shoes. I love this look because its comfortable (chucks) yet chic because of the duster (dress) and skirt.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it inspires you to maximize your closet. If you have to add something new try thrifting. You find some unique pieces and save some coins.
